Comfort, simply, is our worst enemy when we want to ameliorate our existence.
Awareness, courage, and conviction. Awareness is to notice when the thoughts of comfort start speaking. Courage is the strength to whip our minds into shape. The more we grow our courage, the survival mind’s voice will be turned down into silence. It is proven in neuroscience that repetitive behavior is the way to change our thought patterns. Push through the voice. If you must, visualize dissipating or destroying this character, and do what is required that will get you to the desired result. Repetitive actions change the brain’s neurological pattern to become the default thought path. This is how people retain high-performance habits. Doing the uncomfortable activity, such as not spending and saving, waking up at 5 am, being on task at work, finishing projects early, all become a neurological pattern as the behavior is repeated over and over. Repeating high-performance habits silence the survival brain’s desire to quit and seek comfort through the means of procrastinating, reasoning, and retracting for survival.
